On the Housing Blog we've had several posts related to the GrandMarc on St. Boltoph Street. While the Resident Student Association may issue an opinion on behalf of the residents at Northeastern, as we head off to the public meeting I want to let you blog readers know that as members of "the public" you can send the Boston Redevelopment Authority your comments on the project during the public comment period. Does that mean mailed by August 1 or to the Boston Redevelopment Agency by August 1??
I don't understand how it is even legal to violate zoning code. What is the point of zoning if it can be overridden?
A variance can be permitted by approval of the Boston Redevelopment Authority. However, in the case of the GrandMarc, there is strong community opposition to the building having such large variances (especially on height).
